Who licenses fire protection companies in Oklahoma

Who may inspect and service
Oklahoma licenses fire sprinkler inspectors separately; the license page defines the inspector as someone who inspects and tests systems against code for a licensed company.
A fire sprinkler inspector license is only active while the holder is employed by a licensed fire sprinkler company, and the exam must be passed.
Alarm and sprinkler technicians who install, test or inspect equipment must be employed by a licensed company and licensed in each category they work in.
New extinguisher technicians, salespeople, designers and qualified agents must submit ICC-NAFED certification, any required NICET certification, and a passing state rules test score.

License types
The State Fire Marshal licenses four categories: portable extinguishers, pre-engineered kitchen systems, pre-engineered industrial systems and engineered systems, each with company, qualified agent, technician, salesperson and trainee licenses (designer for engineered).
Company manager licenses come in eight categories including Burglar Alarm/Commercial Fire Alarm and Fire Sprinkler.
The technician license includes a Commercial Fire Alarm category that also covers residential fire alarm work, and a Fire Sprinkler technician category.
A commercial fire sprinkler manager needs NICET Level III or IV in water based layout or five years as a commercial sprinkler technician.
